The Kanye backlash now has a blacklash

With every fiber of my being, I hated what Kanye West did the other night at the MTV Awards. To be clear, I am a Kanye fan but not a super fan. I think some of his musical praises from critics and fans alike are over hyped at times. That being said what he did the other night was dead wrong and inexcusable. For the people that defended his actions, there is a difference between speaking out against the president(that takes courage) and snatching the mic from a teenage girl at an award show(that is the act of a childish man). The backlash that Kanye experienced was well deserved but now has reached epic proportions and has gone way too far.

I realize that he has a history of arrogant displays in public that can really turn people off. South Park did an excellent job of  lampooning his arrogance and taking him off of his pedestal to the point where he proclaimed in public that he would try to alter his behavior. As arrogant as Kanye has been, he has done nothing that would call for people to wish his death, or to feel justified in calling him nigger on their twitter time line. If you are calling Kanye a nigger because he stole a mic then you were already looking for a reason to say that word towards a black person.  Kanye has built up a lot of animosity but the viciousness of it is very surprising. It has become so vicious that it is making me do something that I really do not want to do, defend him.

Kanye West is not the boogey man. He is not a criminal and what he did and has done in the past is very small in the realm of arrogant celebrities. I can make an exhaustive list of examples but I’m sure if you think back you can make a list of your own. Plus that is not the point of this post. You cannot defend bad behavior with other examples of bad behavior. I am not defending Kanye. I am speaking against the severity of the reaction.  There was nothing but feelings and civil decorum hurt during his idiotic display. That is the way we should treat it. We should not be talking about killing a man because he grabbed a microphone. If you believe that his apology with Jay Leno was not sincere then you are a very cynical human being. Kanye has only one more apology to make and that is to Taylor Swift herself. That should be in person and should be a non media related event. The only thing that we should know is that it happened and that is all.
