Congratulations to RUN DMC for making the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Run DMC – “Raising Hell” was the first album I ever owned. It is the first album that I took my allowance that I saved walked into a store and said “I want that, no I need that”. Run DMC was not the first time that I heard hip hop but Run DMC was the first to make me want to be Hip Hop. It made a young black kid living in North Carolina wish that he was from Hollis Queens so that he could live and breath the same air that these guys breathed so maybe that some of their, for lack of a better word, “swagger” would rub off on me. So congratulations Run DMC for this achievement for yesterday you were truly “The Kings of Rock”.
